Elcom recently presented the latest product releases to a packed house of clients and partners at the CommunityManager.NET User Group in the MLC Centre, Sydney. This event followed on from a successful Melbourne User Group which resulted in a buzz of excitement over the latest product updates.
Product Director, Anthony Milner covered product releases 6.10, 6.11 and 7.0 along with a look ahead at what is to come for the rest of 2010. Among the highlights were the raft of new integration features with applications such as HP TRIM, Microsoft Office and SharePoint, Office Communicator and looking ahead to integration with Microsoft CRM and SalesForce.
Another major announcement was the introduction of Template Driven Community Manager (TDCM). Anthony discussed the key benefits of TDCM as making it easier to implement website designs, ensuring web standards are easier to adhere to, quicker page loading and it’s also easier to make global changes. Hyundai, Elcom’s first client to move across to TDCM, was used to showcase these key benefits.
Other exciting advancements announced included an innovative way to publish content via email, improvements to SEO, increased security features, bulk file upload functionality, workflow improvements and much more.
In addition to these key product update announcements, Elcom also shared it’s expertise in the Social Media space with Partner Account Manager and resident Gen Y expert Josh Anstey detailing how to use Social Media to engage your audience. Josh used a series of great examples to illustrate best practice for not only using social media to engage your customers but also your own employees.
eCommerce was also a major feature of the User Group with Technical Director, Angus McDonald, taking a look at Elcom client, Wine Selectors and how they leveraged the eCommerce functionality of CommunityManager.NET to create a competitive advantage. Angus detailed Wine Selectors ‘Tricks of the Trade’ to be effective use of taxonomy and well designed registration pages, product search pages and widgets (page elements).
