The Challenge


The Audit Office of NSW sought to better inform and connect its audit staff who are geographically dispersed on projects across several business teams. The Audit Office wanted to be able to communicate with its staff in a timely and efficient manner while promoting collaboration within and across business teams.

The Solution

The Audit O­ffice selected Elcom a powerful simple Web Content Management System – as the platform for its intranet. Elcom provided full end-to-end services on the project, working in close collaboration with the Audit Offi­ce to understand requirements, produce a visual design and implement the intranet.

Key features of the intranet include:

  • Personalisation of the intranet through design, functionality and the characterisation of Alfie (the intranet persona)
  • Implementation of Elcom to enable easy content management and communication to staff on policies, procedures and current news in a timely manner
  • Single sign-on via Active Directory integration
  • Implementation of an easy to use online version of its Audit and Assurance manual
  • Implementation of the Corporate Directory module including staff profiles for personalisation and increased engagement
  • Integration with Microsoft Office Communicator Sever to display individuals presence indicator
  • HP TRIM integration to enable TRIM documents to be referenced and displayed via the intranet
  • Implementation of discussion forums to promote staff collaboration
